Friday night I went to Broadway Revue, which is a selection of college students singing broadway songs. That was alot of fun and pretty good! I went with my roommates Holly and Marisa and one of our FHE brothers Randy. We then watched Fever Pitch which wasn't too bad. A pretty cute movie overall.
Saturday we "deep cleaned" our apartment. Everything gets so dusty here in Idaho! Things get so dirty so fast! But we felt so good after cleaning it.
Then we got to go to the William Joseph concert! Let me just say, it was flipping amazing! There is one point in the program where he lays on the piano bench on his back, crosses his hands and plays part of the song like that! There is another song where his fingers are moving so fast that they are just a blur. Afterwards we waited, and waited, and waited and were some of the last to get our pictures taken with William Joseph and members of his tour (ie. violinist, guitarist and drummer). It was freaking sweet! I got my ticket, my cd, and my shirt signed. It was so cool!
The other thing was that I met someone in line who knew my aunt and my dad. Pretty much hilarious. Its amazing the kind of people you meet sometimes. Her sister in law was totally trying to convince me I had a roommate in Burley so I have a reason to go up there and she can hook me up with her son. It was pretty funny!
Tonight we had a "progressive dinner" where the ladies broke up into groups and then we went around the the gentlemen's apartments and they fed us. It was so good! It was very funny, our invitations said "What: Dinner and a side of good looking men" It was so cute and just hilarious! The last place we went to we were served a poppy seed chicken. YUM! It was so amazingly good. DELICIOUS. We all went around and we had to say our name, where we were from, and then what our dream car or our favorite car would be. I said that my favorite car was a 2008 Mazda Speed3 and 2 of my brothers had them and I think the cars are really sexy. And that made people laugh and they made me keep telling them that the car was sexy. It was pretty much hilarious.
Then one of the guys (he is really good looking and he's Canadian! hehe) anyways! He told me my boots were hot, I was wearing my roommate's cowboy boots and anyways I was pretty happy. It was pretty much hilarious. again.
This upcoming week is going to be pretty busy, but I'm excited as well!

the weekend...
Saturday we didn't really do much. Considerably uneventful. Our Hot water heater's flame went out and so I got to take a freezing cold shower! But not to worry~ We got it fixed!
Marisa is hooked to many TV shows, and MTV was running a marathon of "So You Think You Can Dance?" which I have to agree was actually pretty amazing to watch.
We went to Taco Bell for dinner. They were all out of Crunchy taco shells, so poor Marisa had to take Hannah and I's advice on what to get. She liked it. We then went to Walmart for toilet paper and milk and ended up getting some beanies for our headies as well! I've come to love beanies! They keep your hair safe from the wind and your head warm as well. Dry too!
Kristen was headed to her brother's birthday party so Hannah and I decided to tag along. I'm glad we did, it was a ton of fun! I also ate the 11th piece of pizza in as many days. Pretty much amazing. I met quite a few people, the only sadness is that I'll probably never see them again. I was happy to see one of my peers there Saturday. (WARNING: I'M ABOUT TO START GUSHING) He is in my business group and so nice and so cute and just so likeable! So he saw me and made a face at me, which naturally I made a face back and then he came over and met my roommates and talked to me for awhile. Made my day!
Sunday (which for all purposes I will call today) we had church which is always good. I was a bit more tired than usual today since Hannah and I had stayed up WAY too late talking. try 2:30 and then had to get up for 9:30 church (which means to get all beautiful and stuff you have to get up earlier than that).
Stefka and I went to visit teach one of the girls in our ward. Its fun getting to know people while also having a spiritual experience!
I then took a freaking long nap, but it was soooo nice!
I made tons of apple crisp tonight since my Jonagold apples are starting to get too soft. We invited our FHE (Family Home Evening) brothers and sisters over. They really enjoyed it and I'm not going to lie, it was freaking amazing! Sooo good. Yummy!
I'm so excited for the weekend (too bad the week hasn't even started yet!) but there are so many things I am looking forward to, like the Broadway Revue night and then the Willliam Joseph concert the next night!
Love ya!

Battle of the Dance

Well, today (Friday October 19) was uneventful, but fun all the same.
I got up exceedingly early (for me) and took my hometeacher to the airport. I then came home and slept before getting up for my class.
Tonight me and a few of my roomies went to "Battle of the Dance" where there were several different dances that were all freaking amazing. There was the dance team, the ballroom dance team and tons of individuals dancing wither by themselves or as couples. Two of the guys in my dance class performed. One is on the ballroom dance class and he was very good! The other guy danced a country swing and him and his partner were amazing! They did lifts and were all over the place! I actually danced with him at the country dance a few weeks ago and he was very good! Like dancing with Mikal in the past. I wish I could dance like that now! Or even to begin with... But man, I miss dancing and watching dancing. There was this one couple who were sooooo amazing. Words cannot describe. I wish I had been that girl dancing! Sweet!
Well, after that, I went to Spencer's (a guy from my Family History class) and we carved pumpkins which was super fun! And mine actually looks good this year! We used patterns so, enough said. We then played Disney Scene It and got our trash kicked!
There was actually this guy there, his name is Ross, and I've seen him around campus all the time. Each time I look at him I think, that is exactly what Caidin is going to look like when he is older! Seriously! Its kind of crazy, but I think that is what he'll look like!
Anyways, things were fun, hope the rest of the weekend is just as great.
Next week I get to go to Broadway Revue, and attend a concert with William Joseph at the Piano. Amazing! I am so so so excited!

Beginning anew
Hey family and friends!
So I'm going to try this out. I'm starting blogging and posting my pictures of college dealios!
So far, I'm absolutely loving it. Things are going so well!
My roommates are all amazing and we all get along quite well. Sometimes we have our little tense moments, but overall, the apartment is getting along well and we are all becoming better friends.
I've decorated (with the help of the roomies) the walls in the living room with pictures, quotes and colors. On one wall we have our "Christ wall" with quotes from general conference and some pictures I picked up at the distribution center while I was down there for conference. Another wall is about Prayer and has pictures and quotes about it, as well as my "Sacred Grove" poster in french. One of our other walls has temples on it with yet again, more quotes and pictures of our favorite temples (of course the Portland is the biggest one! its 4 out of 6 of our favorites.).
Finally, Our largest wall is covered with pictures and quotes that we all picked out ourselves. So each of us have 3 quotes and 3 pictures with our names. It looks good if I do say so myself!
Going down to conference was a little stressful, but tons of fun! Chelsie got tickets for the morning session on Saturday so we went and let me tell you, it was amazing! Right after the session ended, we booked it out the door and got in the standby line. We made it in for the afternoon session and we were on the main floor! It was amazing amazing amazing! You could really feel the spirit and the power of the priesthood when Elder Wirthlin suffered from a case of locked knees. You could see the prophet praying and Henry B. Eyring on the edge of his seat ready to assist, as well as body guards at the ready with a wheelchair. It was very cool to see Elder Nelson holding him up.
Today I decorated my room a bit more, putting up nature pictures, pictures of Christ, and pictures of family. I think people are jealous! Haha.
I'm really feeling at home here. I continue meeting people and making more friends, as well as forming stronger bonds with those I already know.
We've had some pretty amazing nights here in Idaho. Even though its only little Rexburg! We had an all girls movie night, that was wild! The roomies were hyper so we were taking some crazy pictures. Monday I went on a walk with a guy from my Family History class then we met up with some people from his ward and played a game called "Grounders" You play it on a play set. So we had 10 people playing it, and 2 people are "IT". Those that are "IT" can go anywhere on the playset and on the ground, but they have their eyes closed. Those that are not "IT" can only go on the playset. At anytime those that are "IT" can call "Grounders!" and anyone on the ground becomes it. I got quite bruised from trying to jump from the slides to the monkey bars or to the platforms.
On Tuesday Hannah, Kristin and I went to Porter Park and played on the swing sets. We then took pictures by one of the men's housing signs, and the police car that is always sitting outside one of the girl's housing apartments.
Yesterday it was raining/ snowing pretty hard! It was quite cold! My business group was getting together and so we were almost done working on our assignment and Doug looks out the window and goes "ah man, I don't want to walk home in this" and I said "Yeah, me neither" and so Cody offered to give us a ride home. I was sooo happy! Even just walking out to the car my hair was completely soaked. So Cody gave 3 of us a ride home yesterday. He also brings us treats everytime we meet with our group. Hallelujah! Makes my day. He walked in with pizza and Stephen goes "Man, I love this kid".
Love you all and I'll try to make sure that I keep up with this.
Love,
Janelle Cheney
