Maternity Shoot

As always, its a little bit of an adventure when shooting a new setting or style. Today's challenge was maternity pictures! I'm glad I've been learning so much about my camera (with still much more to go) but it does make getting the right pictures the first time easier!

I had a great time out there with Tasha and Andrew, and Ryan even served as my own personal assistant carrying everything around. Such a good helper ;) Tasha mentioned they would probably be printing these pictures in black and white, so of course that goes along quite well with my new obsession!

I can't believe how amazing Tasha looks being 34.5 weeks pregnant! She has stayed so skinny and has a cute prego belly!

I love how happy they look in this picture, I caught them just as they were laughing.

These last two are my favorite. I'm so glad Tasha had this idea, its absolutely fabulous!

Marisa

I love shooting photos of Marisa because she just finds the camera and loves it. She's so gorgeous, so naturally its easy ;) I've had a bit of obsession lately with black and white photos. I love them!

Am I becoming my parents?

A couple weeks ago my friend Meggie gave Ryan and I a love-seat and a couch. Then she threw in her old nightstands. All these items are, well, rather ugly. The couches aren't horrible, but I'm hoping to find some good couch covers for them. And neither Ryan nor I are huge fans of light colored 'wood'.

So we decided to take these nightstands we recently acquired and change them into something awesome. We've got one finished! We sanded and painted it then added new knobs. Between the both of them, the project will have cost about $27. For two nightstands. Wohoo!

Dentists make me nervous

Today was my first Dentist appointment in over a year and a half, almost two (removing wisdom teeth doesn't count, and it was nearly within that time period anyways).

I've been kind of nervous. I'm self-conscious about my teeth because their very oval and very long. VERY. Sometimes I feel like my teeth look like a horse's. And you know what they say, never look a something horse in the mouth, right? Well, whatever it is. I hate people looking at my teeth. Because, lets face it. They've had ALOT of work done. I MEAN ALOT. And naturally, no matter how well I brush, I still get that lovely sentence, "You're gonna need some fillings." WOHOO! Not.

But today, today was different. For once my dentist commented on how well I brush and he suggested a waterpic for flossing(I hate flossing, especially where my built in retainer is). Miracle!

Unfortunately I still have two fillings. But luckily, its only because one of mine broke and he's going to fix it, and the other is itty bitty but he's going to fix that too since in 37 days I will be married and who knows what insurance I'll have.

YIPPY.

That's like... a record for me.

Oh, and he went to dental school with uncle Lowell. Right away he asked if I was an "Archer Cheney". Ha ha.

You know what I say? Maybe going to the dentist isn't so bad...

And maybe I'll eat those words later.

Finished! Or maybe just beginning :/

The wedding announcements are finally finished!

FINALLY.

Now I know why people elope. As Hannah said on her blog, the suggestion to elope and get married by an Elvis impersonator is sounding more and more inviting. I mean, to a point. I still want to get a dressed up, and have my family, I just wish that some traditions weren't traditions.

Or maybe I just wish that I didn't LOVE those traditions so much. Yeah, its probably that one.

Its every girl's dream to have a beautiful wedding dress.
To have a huge wedding with everyone who has ever meant anything to her in her life.
A celebration of two lives joining forever!
Food, flowers, friends, family. Is anything better?

And while I wish it wasn't so much gosh darn work, I do want that.

Ahhh...

20 some odd hours of addressing, stuffing, stamping, and gluing envelopes is going to pay off.

So what now? Get my butt back in gear for school.
